In Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee!, the trio are featured in their previous locations from Red, Blue, and Yellow, but can also be found roaming in the sky after the player has beaten the Pokémon League. The bird must be encountered 11 times, however, before they will retreat to the Sea Spirit's Den and become available for capture. If the player character chooses Chespin, they will encounter Articuno if they have Fennekin, they will see Zapdos and if they picked Froakie, they may catch Moltres. In Pokémon X and Y, one of the birds may be found roaming Kalos after defeating the Pokémon League, with the Pokémon depending on the player character's starter.
In Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness, the three legendary birds appear as Shadow Pokémon and are originally used by Grand Master Greevil. Pokémon Platinum featured the Legendary Birds as roaming Sinnoh after the player character defeats the Pokémon League.
Pokémon Yellow featured the trio in their previous locations, while later games featuring Kanto moved Moltres to different areas: in FireRed and LeafGreen, the Flame Pokémon was at Mt. Zapdos can be found at the Kanto Power Plant, while Moltres can be captured in Victory Road. Articuno is hidden within the Seafoam Islands. The Kantonian Legendary Birds first appeared in the games Pokémon Red, Green, and, outside of Japan, Blue Versions.
